Creating Healthy Communities Webinar Details:

When: Tuesday, August 4, 2009 from 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. ET

Join Commissioner Gail L. Warden, Staff Director David R. Williams and Deputy Staff Director Wilhelmine Miller for a discussion about promoting health by improving the places where we live, learn, work and play.  This one-hour program is designed for those interested in creating healthy environments and who might be unfamiliar with the Commission and its recommendations, which aim to create healthier homes and communities by improving the built environment and integrating safety and wellness into all aspects of the community.

The recommendations resulted from a year-long investigation into factors outside of the health care system that influence health. Released in April, the recommendations identify programs and policies from across sectors – and from across the nation – that are making a difference in the health of all Americans.

This webinar is the second in a three-part series the Commission is hosting to discuss its recommendations. If you missed the first webinar, Starting Early, you can download the audio recording and accompanying slides from the discussion here
